Feeling bit more pleased with myself after my disappointment with Poppy stamp and dies.
I needed a storage for my die’s but really did not want to spend mega money so I had a brain wave …yes scary thought I know but I had an old CD Storage wallet gathering dust and that is what gave me the idea.
I bought a roll of magnetic tape from Poundland and made some basic background square card templates to slot inside and Voila !!!
So there we have it a cheap affordable Die Cut storage for £2 – These CD storage can also be found in Poundshops
Supplies :- Memento DewDrops : Summer Sky, Angel Pink, Dandelion and Tangelo
Stamps are Flower Blocks – Clearly Besotted Stamps
As it is my mum’s birthday soon and her favourite flower is Poppies… I was pleased to find a stamp set & die set for a good price.
Well today I had a rare day off and thought I would give them a go… how disappointed I am with this set. Firstly the stamps are not individual stamps, nor would then attach to a stamp block or my WRMK…. so I had to work blind with them.
First attempt was stamp image and place paper on top then use die cut and second attempt was to use distress ink on to paper, place die on top and then stamp outline in black and place paper on top….must be an easier way to use these stamps surely ? Of course there is … means I have to cut them out and add foam or stix 2 on top *sighs*
I honestly thought given they are Sheena Douglass I would be impressed but alas I am not.
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year. Mine was quiet as got the dreaded bug that has been going around and was pretty much laid up for 3 days, but cannot grumble as many others are battling more serious things than a cold – Bless them.
Now the festive season is over I can now get back to my love of crafting and baking. I must have been on the good list as got so many lovely crafting stuff and cannot wait to try them out on my new big Grand Calibur, so much so that I may have a slight wait as just treated myself to some new embossing folders and die cuts.
Problem is they are coming all way over from China ( alot cheaper than UK ) but will be so worth the wait and already looking forward to a weekend of doing nothing except using my wonderful stuff. But happier news Hobbycraft has a sale and just got some Magnetic Die Storage Box with Inserts
I have not made any New Years Resolutions just merely to try and improve with my crafting and hopefully make some wonderful things.
Also looking forward to a new arrival in family this month as my God Daughter is expecting her 2nd baby.
Sorry this is not much of a post but wishing you all A Happy New Year
I had an unexpected day off today which gave me a chance to try out the new dies I got yesterday.
The Penguin was so fiddly I almost threw it in the bin but maybe one weekend I will give it another go…
Now the Reindeer I love ! And I have to say I think I have found my new favourite Christmas colour of Raspberry.
As I did not have brownish colour card, I used my distress ink to get the colour I was happy with and same the for the lights.
What do you think ?

Seeing as my plans for making a start on Christmas Eve box No2 did not materialise due to weather, it feels like the Artic here, I decided to check one of my favourite groups on Facebook.
Someone had posted a thread Home For The Holidays which included a video etc.
WOW is all I can say about this fab tip with using a Tracing Wheel ( commonly found in sewing or baking ) and I just had to try it out.
Here is my attempt, albeit a rough go on cheap card, but it’s there !
This tip is a godsend as I wanted a stitched die but this will do me for now, amazing what tips people can come up with plus we all know how expensive it can be when starting a new hobby.
After making the Baby Boy card, I thought let’s play around with new my dies.
I started off well then hit a mental block so decided to stop. Maybe that was a right decision or merely the fact I was in agony with my elbow (tennis & golf elbow double whammy ).
I just love these my new dies from Tattered Lace, and of course added bonus when over half price in sale.
First off was the cute gingerbread men just something about them that remind’s me it’s christmas. ( Please excuse the bit of card on Oh What Fun sentiment it is definately not stuck on )
Next up was the Elf, now I will admit this had me stumped as I had to cut and layer it and I will blow my own trumpet here and say for my first attempt it’s ok, not 100% perfect and maybe looks a bit patchy but for me its a miracle I did it ! Now just to add the eyes. Opps forgot to mention I used Distress Ink to colour the white card.
Lastly was the embossed Let It Snow ( yes I am singing the tune in my head but only The Overtones version ), I had help here as folder would not fit my machine, but how stunning does this look ? With the cute snow people or is it snow couple I have no idea ?? The embossing would look simple and effective without the added couple.
Hope you like

Just realised I have a friend who is due to have a boy soon and she loves home / hand made stuff, so out came the crafting gear again.
I am pleased with this final card. I know I am not great compared to ALOT of crafters out there but I will get better or so I hope.
I will admit I was going to admit defeat with this as my corner punch was a nightmare and I ended up making loads of squares when I only needed 8 but I got there in the end ( maybe giving it a whack helped I don’t know ).
Here is the finished result.
