Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year. Mine was quiet as got the dreaded bug that has been going around and was pretty much laid up for 3 days, but cannot grumble as many others are battling more serious things than a cold – Bless them.
Now the festive season is over I can now get back to my love of crafting and baking. I must have been on the good list as got so many lovely crafting stuff and cannot wait to try them out on my new big Grand Calibur, so much so that I may have a slight wait as just treated myself to some new embossing folders and die cuts.
Problem is they are coming all way over from China ( alot cheaper than UK ) but will be so worth the wait and already looking forward to a weekend of doing nothing except using my wonderful stuff. But happier news Hobbycraft has a sale and just got some Magnetic Die Storage Box with Inserts
I have not made any New Years Resolutions just merely to try and improve with my crafting and hopefully make some wonderful things.
Also looking forward to a new arrival in family this month as my God Daughter is expecting her 2nd baby.
Sorry this is not much of a post but wishing you all A Happy New Year
I had so much fun making these crafts with my Godson. Plus I think the candle makes a lovely keepsake for his parents.
So easy to make and so inexpensive too. For the candle artwork, we bought a candle for £1, some tissue paper and wax paper. Let the children draw on the tissue paper, wrap it around the candle with wax paper over the top, then heat it up with either hairdryer or heat tool. I will be honest and say I did do a tester one and found better effects with pens rather than crayons.
The Tree was simply a square piece of paper, folded in half ( to resemble a triangle ) then simply cut towards the fold. Open up and bend over and add decorations.
We also did the Candy Cane Hearts, so had a lovely time together crafting 🙂
Hope you enjoy. And incase I don’t get a chance ” Merry Christmas ” to everyone and have a brilliant festive season 🙂
Well we gave it a go today and this was our finished result. Am so pleased that these Candy Cane Hearts were a success.
So easy to do to ! Simply heat oven, we had ours at Gas Mark 6 /7, placed the candy canes into a heart shape and popped in oven middle shelf for approx 90 seconds. Quickly moulded the canes and left to cool. Once cooled completely, melted white chocolate and poured into heart shape then added christmas sprinkles. I cheated slightly as popped them into freezer for 10 minutes to harden.
Such a fun activity to do with kids – give it a go !
Now I am all prepped for Christmas I can now enjoy the last few days crafting with my godson.
We are going to decorate a paper christmas tree, such an easy craft activity as we know most kids lose interest if its a long winded activity. All you need is paper, glue, scissors and few bits n bobs to decorate it.
We are also going to get adventurous and attempt to create a Kids Artwork Candle. This looks a lovely keepsake to create. I could not find any white candles so I have to attempt this with ivory candle, tissue paper and wax paper. The technique looks so simple so wish us luck !
Below are pictures of what we will be making and not our creations
Well since my last post I have been non stop ! Anyone else feel like December is just one crazy manic month ?
I decided to try some digi stamps, part of me felt it was cheating but on other hand I felt it was a massive help. I love all things Elf’s at Christmas and nowhere where I live sell’s Elf tags so I decided to make my own. I will be honest and admit I felt pretty good with myself as I don’t have any fancy photo editing suite, yet i made tags combining 2 images into one !
Monday saw my annual concert to see The Overtones, yet again another fab concert albeit one member was missing, but given fact he has personal health reasons which are 100% priority I totally understand and look forward to seeing the 5 boys next year.
I also had a couple of days out with my Goddaughter and Godson which I always enjoy and cherish. That afternoon both my godson and I did some baking and made cookies.
In between all this I had a couple of Toddler parties to take my godson too which were great and rounded one party off by visiting local garden center to see Reindeers !
I have somehow managed to fit in my last bit of Christmas Shopping …. Phew ! Now for the task of wrapping them off for Santa to deliver.
But it’s not all over yet ….. another week another mad one, by time Christmas Eve comes i will probably be flaked out from exhaustion
Here is a snippet of what I have been doing
Am so pleased with myself. As a still relatively newbie to crafting / card making I think I have come along away. What started off as a simple reindeer stamp card I have slowly gotten better, Yes I still have alot of room for improvement but for me this is a great milestone.
I am so pleased with how I have finished the last few cards for family members. I will admit I know there is a slight mistake with the Nutcracker card but overall I am besides myself, just glad I got them all made as now begins the hectic month of Decemeber for me.
I also made some tags for Snowman Soup which i will be making very soon.
What do you think ? Have I come along way ?
As always any feedback greatly welcomed 🙂
Supplies :- Sweet Dixie Dies, CBS – Banner Die, Distress Inks
I am sorry for lack of posts recently it’s just that I have been so busy past couple of weeks.
2 weeks ago my Goddaughter and her husband surprised me with a lovely day out which resulted in going to their 3D /4D baby scan of their 2nd baby, lunch and then went to London to watch Tennis. Had a brilliant day out and seeing their Little One on a scan was unreal and even more excited to meet the Little One.
It’s so amazing what they can see now with a scan and makes you wonder what they can in the future.
Last weekend I went out with a friend Christmas shopping. Was a lovely day out but came back bit empty handed, which was expected as I already have most presents. Just struggling to get parents theirs, I mean what do you get parents who simply just say ” a card will do ” ? and have all what they want ??
Next Monday me and my mum are off on our annual concert to see our fab boys The Overtones. No doubt I will be aching the next day as they do put on a brilliant show and you are up on your feet soon as they appear on stage until you go home.
So today i have nothing to do so quite looking forward to a day of relaxing and crafting … Yay ! and trying out my new fab dies…. To be honest I got a bit fed up with a company who sells these so i made mental note not to buy from them again. Anyway enough of that.
To my friend across the pond I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. Also hope everyone is remaining calm with Christmas season upon us and not running about like a headless chicken.
Before I forget.. Thankyou to Jessica for your kind words I do appreciate them 🙂
Have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing 🙂
