Firstly I would like to apologise to anyone that follows my blog for my recent silence. I have been extremely busy with work, family, crafts and Christmas.
Over the pass few weekends I have made Christmas Cards for family and God Children. To be honest since last year I have seen a slight improvement in my crafting although I will be honest and say I am still nowhere near as good as alot of crafters out there but I am pleased with the cards I have made.
This will more than likely be my last blog post of 2017 as for the next few weekends I am busy so I will bid you all a Merry Christmas & All the best wishes for 2018. Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and family time. Stay safe and see you next year
Hope you like the cards 🙂
I had so much fun making these christmas cards. Soon as I worked out how to colour background I could not stop making these.
Am so in love with the Gnomes which came free with a magazine
Inks used :- Distress Oxides Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, Candied Apple Broken China & Spiced Marmalade.
Sentiments : CBS Stitched Mittens
Firstly many apologies to any of my followers for lack of posts recently. September was a very hectic month for me with work, god kids etc so I literally needed a break from anything and just relax and do nothing for couple of weekends.
Anyway… Distress Inks blending …am I the only one that get’s really stressed out with this ? I mean, I have watched countless videos ( all seem effortless ) and followed various tutorials and yet I still struggle.
I am wondering if I am apply pressure to hard , to soft, wrong paper / card. I tried normal card, neenah card and watercolour card …. endless thoughts about this run through my head.
So after watching everyone highly recommend the new Distress Oxides, off I went again watching video tutorials which only made me weep inside wishing I could be that creative and how great the ladies were doing them.
Along came my birthday and I was so lucky to receive both sets of Oxides and I have to say I made my swatches today ( as blending foam pad is unable to sit nestled under pad unlike mini distress ink pads ) and the colours are great and yes it was flawless to use. Maybe these are for me and would make my blending much easier….. time will tell as will be using / testing these next weekend.
I would however recommend the 2 videos by Jennifer McGuire as she talks and explains everything easy and I will attempt some of her examples and fingers crossed be able to post very soon.
Video 1 and Video 2
Would love to hear your tips for ink blending please
After my successful baking marathon for my gorgeous god daughter’s christening, I can now sit back and relax and craft ( or in my case attempt to craft ).
It is my eldest god daughter’s wedding anniversary approaching and I had two idea’s in my head that I wanted to create. Am almost happy to say the card’s came out pretty close to my image.
I am undecided on what one to use ! The couple and Paris does have significant meaning to them both, But I have to admit I do like the cute couple looking into the sunset. I am also pleased with how the sunset finished as I am totally useless with Distress Ink blending, I have tried all sorts of paper and this was watercolour paper.
All of the dies are from slow boat and unbranded but 1 love them
I just love all things Elf / Elves at christmas, it sums up the magical season for me.
Again these are all from slow boat ( even the stamp ) and cut very well. I did find these tricky to do as so delicate to hold let alone colour in. For the colouring I used Nuvo Alcohol Markers
These will be going on kids christmas sacks just hope they like them !
Just need to add hole and twine and job done 🙂
Before my upcoming hectic but happy weekend is upon me, I decided to finally have a test run with the edge dies I got from slow boat from China.
These cut like a dream and cannot wait to put them to good use when I need to make a card for a special event. Hardly have to use a pokey tool as the little pieces fall right out. BUT the one edge die on top right hand photo, now that was another matter. I did struggle to begin with with this but as alot of other crafters have had same problem I feel relieved I am not doing anything wrong. Phew !
Aren’t they gorgeous ?
Sorry for lack of blog posts recently, I have been so busy with work, family and also prepping for an upcoming Christening.
As I mentioned previously my happy mail has almost arrived and now slowly drifting off as not waiting for many to arrive. Have to say I am so impressed with what I have so far and no doubt be ordering more in future.
As I had a rare weekend off, I finally got to test some of the dies and no doubt many of you will be familiar with the make of these. I did a trial run of Christmas Cards and also made a trial attempt at the ” favour” boxes as may need to make 60 of these for upcoming Christening.
Anyway here they are. Hope you like 🙂
